Improving Traveler Safety with Advanced Security & Immigration Solutions to Create Safer Nations

Many countries are faced with the challenge of trying to improve tourism and increase the number of incoming visitors to the country. High crime rates and a perceived lack of security and infrastructure deter tourists from traveling to these countries and certain parts of the world. Securiport, a global leader in the design and implementation of passenger biometric recognition, immigration control systems, civil aviation security and intelligent information management and reporting software systems, is committed to the Science of Safer Nations by empowering governments and immigration officials with advanced solutions to enhance border security and combat criminal activity. By improving border and civil aviation security, Securiport hopes to enhance these nations’ security capabilities and ultimately increase positive public perception, further increasing their tourism rates and yearly visitors.

Implementing and utilizing advanced solutions such as Securiport’s Integrated Immigration Control System (IICS), Civil Aviation Security services, and Intelligent Information Management and Profiling, countries can substantially improve their airport security and interdict criminal activity. Securiport’s IICS is a comprehensive security solution that empowers border management and immigration control. It utilizes advanced biometric identification systems and provides proprietary intelligent information to identify potential security risks and criminal activity, which improves the effectiveness of immigration officials and aviation security personnel. When coupled with Securiport’s Intelligent Information Management and Profiling, a methodology for cross-referencing passenger information across international immigration databases, the IICS provides governments, airport security and immigration officials with a comprehensive set of traveler data and information that can be used to cross-match immigration databases to uncover patterns and identify security risks. By providing invaluable information, governments and nations wishing to enhance border security can prevent criminals from illegally entering or leaving their country’s borders.

Countries, such as Honduras, could benefit greatly from implementing one of Securiport’s innovative border management solutions. By improving traveler safety and increasing the security capabilities at an airport or point of entry, such as the Toncontín International Airport in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, the Honduran government can substantially improve the country’s airport and border security. This will ultimately improve travelers’ perception of Honduras, therefore increasing tourism and revenue associated with tourism.

In addition, just last year, Securiport’s Intelligent Information Management Data Analytics enabled international authorities to interdict a Senegal-based human trafficking ring, resulting in numerous criminal arrests. The United States Government was threatening to cut off all flights to and from Dakar, and Securiport assisted the Senegalese government and South African Airlines in identifying and resolving the security issue, which helped restore and maintain the diplomatic relationship between Senegal and the United States.

By leveraging these systems, government officials and immigration officers will be able to equip themselves with the actionable data and necessary information needed to keep all ports of entry secure, ultimately creating safer and more secure nations.

Securiport Announces Its Attendance as an INTERPOL World Strategic Partner at the Inaugural INTERPOL World 2015 Biennial Conference

Marina Bay Sands, Singapore – May 4, 2015Securiport, a global leader in the design and implementation of passenger biometric recognition, immigration processing, and intelligent management and reporting software systems, has announced its attendance and exhibitions of innovative solutions as an INTERPOL World Strategic Partner at the inaugural INTERPOL World 2015 biennial conference.

INTERPOL World is a new biennial international security event, which brings government leaders together with representatives of international organizations and researchers to discuss strategies to develop safer and more secure cities and nations. INTERPOL World 2015 aimed to create a public-private partnership to identify, develop and drive security initiatives across four key domains: Cybersecurity, Border Management, Safe Cities, and Supply Chain Security.

During the event, Securiport’s Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Attila Freska, represented Securiport in the INTERPOL World Congress panel discussion and presented a Global Challenge: “Can we create a global community that can deliver a trusted identity check?” During the presentation Dr. Freska highlighted common shortcomings and roadblocks as well as examples of failed identity checks where criminals are exploiting certain loopholes. During his presentation, Dr. Freska outlined potential strategic solutions to these problems. “Investments in infrastructure and technology must be made to provide airport security and immigration officials with robust controls and access to real-time database checks at points of entry,” said Dr. Freska.

Securiport hopes to enhance international passenger safety as well as improve immigration and civil aviation security by implementing their Integrated Immigration Control System (IICS) and Intelligent Information Management System (IIMS). “Our IICS is a comprehensive security solution that empowers airport security and immigration officials,” said Dr. Freska. “Utilizing advanced biometric identification systems, our IICS enables security officials to identify potential security risks and criminal activity, further strengthening the effectiveness of their security capabilities.”

In addition, when coupled with Securiport’s IIMS, a methodology for cross-referencing passenger information across international immigration databases, the IICS provides governments, airport security, and immigration officials with a comprehensive set of traveler data and information that can be used to confirm a passenger’s identity and uncover security risks. Securiport’s IICS also includes Watch-list Management which crosschecks passenger information against multiple government databases and performs real-time identification checks. The system alerts immigration officials on possible watch-list hits by issuing a veiled alarm. These improvements would further increase airport security capabilities, ultimately leading to safer and more secure travels for passengers across the world.
